The best strawberry and cheese combo EVER!
Strawberry and Cheese: I would't call this one classic!
| This is definitely a master piece (This is not a good picture of it, and we just ate all of them in less than five minutes. So, no chance for another pic😥 ) |
In a blink of an eye, the 2020 quarantine is near to its end. We went from complaining a lot about the situation to getting used to the new form of life. Time is still ticking, and we all have to keep moving. One lazy morning, I lay in my bed after dismissing my alarm, looking at all the pics I have taken in this year. I found them being all food pics, except some scattered selfies I took when I have my friends put make up on me. Then I found a picture of the desserts we made for a dessert competition between Peter and me. It was the very start of the quarantine in April, and we were not so used to the life being home all day. We lived a pretty cautious life together, with a lot of sanitizers, alcohol, and bleach at home. It was fortunate of us that we live through this with a bunch of people so when life gets bored some people could come up with something we can have fun together.
| This was my not so pretty chess chocolate dessert The white ones are paprika caramel flavored, and the dark ones are coconut caramel. |
It was a dessert competition between Peter and I. Our creative roommate came up with a very challenging quest: A dessert that features movies. I think it is a great idea as a competition theme, but it was not a fun thing for me cause I am not the kind of person that watches a lot of movies. So, I ended up losing miserably to my respected competitor (hold on! the plating was my idea!), and the theme he found is not at all a stranger to me.
You've probably heard of the dish ratatouille from the animation movie Ratatouille. But, maybe you have not pay attention to the strawberry and cheese combination. "Creamy salty sweet and oaky nuttiness" of cheese combined with "sweet, crispy, slight tang on the finish" becomes a whole new flavor.

With Peter's permission I am going to make it again, with mostly the same recipe but adjust it slightly to make a version of mine (I wonder if that can be any way better though). Also, grab the chance to take another pic 📸 📸.
